Bradley Horowitz is head of the Yahoo Search Marketplace technology group - and his analysis of the phenomenon of user-generated content ala flickr is brilliant.
His point "social software sites don’t require 100% active participation to generate great value."

Anytime Dave !
I find this profile of synthesizers as a percentage of the Flickr users pretty amazing, if you compare it to the percentage existing general population ( around 8-10 % in most temperment/thinking style studies). Quite a self-selecting sorting/aggregating effect.
